The Carmi-White County Boys and Girls Track teams traveled to Eastern Illinois University over the weekend for a pair of indoor meets to begin the 2026 season.
Top 16 Finishers for the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs were:
Dakota Brown – 14th in 200 Meter Run
Andrew Benham – 14th in 1600 Meter Run
Jazz Duckworth, Isaac Northcott, Keaton Grant, Cooper Hill – 11th in 4×2 Relay
Connor Benham – 11th in Pole Vault
Makyla Seibers – 16th in 800 Meter Run
Norah Taylor – 12th in High Jump
Torrie Rider – 5th in Shot Put
The Bulldogs will travel to Marion for another indoor meet this Friday, the Lady Bulldogs will travel to Marion next Thursday.
The Carmi-White County Baseball and Softball teams will begin their 2026 seasons a week from today.
The Bulldogs will travel to West Frankfort before playing their first home game next Thursday against Carterville.
The Lady Bulldogs will host Grayville next Monday. Next Monday’s softball game will be streamed on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel.
The IHSA Boys Basketball Sectional Championships took place on Friday Night:
Goreville defeated Waltonville 47-44 in the 1A Trico Sectional Championship.
Goreville will face Jacksonville-Routt in the Jacksonville Super-Sectional tonight.
Lawrenceville defeated Altamont 59-45 in the 1A Macon Meridian Sectional Championship.
Lawrenceville will battle LeRoy in the EIU Super-Sectional in Charleston tonight.
Benton defeated Carterville 58-43 in the 2A Nashville Sectional Championship.
Benton will face Quincy Notre Dame in the SIU Super-Sectional in Carbondale tonight.
