NCOE school leaders met for a bit more than half an hour in regular session Wednesday. In addition to regular reports from administrators, Superintendent Matt Vollman says the school district is partnering with a company for wall composites and to digitize all NCOE yearbooks dating back to 1927.
All of that will be on a display board, anyone can come in look at their class…or there will actually be a link we can put on our website so people can go in and view it from the website.
Vollman went on to say there will be additional information that can be loaded in from class pictures to sports information, records, stats, and video. The initial cost is $34 for each of the approximately 80 yearbooks that will need to be digitized and the agreement will cost the school district about $3,500 annually. Vollman says he’s been in touch with Alumni Association head Roy Kissel and there would be an ask to members to assist financially. He’s hoping to have it done by Memorial Day weekend when the Alumni Association hosts their annual gathering.
Additionally Wednesday night, NCOE will be changing trash collectors after considering bids. Bulldog Services, the current vendor, bid at $519.96 per month while Republic Services came in at $330 per month with a 7% increase in their 2nd and 3rd year of the multi-year agreement.
The board agreed to let bids for mowing and heard an update on the annual Booth Trust annual report showing the checking account with $23,909.05 and the Certificate of Deposit totaling $28,190.25.
The board recessed into executive session at 7:33pm.
