A bicyclist died in a Saturday evening crash with a vehicle in Franklin County.
A vehicle hit 43-year-old James Easton near Ewing Road on Illinois State Highway 37 on Valentine’s Day.
Following the collision, Ewing Northern Fire Department and AMR Ambulance arrived on scene and found Easton with significant injuries. He was transported first to Franklin Hospital, then later to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle in the accident were not injured, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit, continues to investigate the wreck.
