In court news Monday, 29-year-old Lonnie Duvall of Carmi agreed to a plea deal that will allow him probation for two years, 30 hours of community service, a fine, and drug treatment in lieu of a jail sentence. Duvall was charged with Meth Possession and Illegal Use of Property for Meth Transportation back in late August. Duvall took the guilty plea on the meth charge with the other charge dismissed in return for a withhold judgment ruling.
White County States Attorney Chris Neal formally made a declaration Tuesday morning deciding not to pursue a case against 60-year-old Russell Pragit. WROY/WRUL News never received an official incident report on Oscar Bartlett from January 29th, but online court records show that’s when he was arrested most recently on charges of Possession of Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and a count of Illegal Use of Property for Meth Transportation. Bartlett was in court Monday for a first appearance, and the court appointed him a public defender. A status hearing has been set for Wednesday.
40-year-old Joseph Stoneberger also appeared in White County court Monday for a first appearance. Online court records indicate the Grayville man was arrested last Thursday on charges of Stalking, Electronic Harassment, and Disorderly Conduct. Stoneberger remains behind bars at the White County Jail. A detention hearing has been set for Thursday morning.
42-year-old Gregory Burchfield is learning his fate Monday afternoon. The Carmi man is being sent to the Illinois Department of Corrections for a term of 3 years with an additional 6 months of subsequent mandatory supervised release. Burchfield didn’t appear for his sentencing. Online court records indicate Burchfield contacted the clerk’s office saying he was ill.
