City of Carmi leaders will gather Tuesday in council chambers at 5:30 for their second meeting of the year. Council is expected to vote on spending to the tune of more than $600,000. Over $570,000 of that however is through the city’s IEPA loan and will cover water meter work already discussed. Nearly $550,000 of that is to Wiggs Excavating with the $21,800 and change remainder going to Brown and Roberts, the city’s preferred engineering firm. Brown and Roberts is also expected to be retained via agreement Tuesday night for upcoming projects at the airport. The other $40,000 expenditure on the council agenda is for repairs and maintenance for the 6th Street substation. Council will also consider stop-loss insurance renewal proposals Tuesday and also a resolution regarding the police CD renewal. WROY/WRUL News will have a reporter on site and we’ll look forward to bringing you details from the meeting Wednesday morning.
