Over $18,000 Raised During the Holiday Season

It was another great year for the Southern Illinois Salvation Army.
During the holiday season, shoppers at the Carmi Walmart were greeted by familiar faces, all dedicated to raising money for those in need.
Numerous volunteers, through bell ringing and community donations, helped raise $18,326.53.
The money raised will be used to assist families in the area with rent, utilities, and necessities as needed. The support will be sent to the Wabash Area Development (WADI) for qualifying White County residents.
The Southern Illinois Salvation Army White County Unit extends heartfelt gratitude to the local Carmi Walmart, individuals, and community volunteers. Together, they braved winter weather that shifted from biting cold to unexpected warmth, uniting in their efforts to ring the bell for the Red Kettle Campaign. Through their collective dedication, the kettle brought hope to those in need.
The volunteers and groups this year included: Rotary Club of Carmi, White County 4H, First Christian Church, White County Government, City of Carmi, White County Home Extension, Wabash Area Development Inc, Lions Club of Carmi, Mad Hatters 4H, Key Club of CWCHS, and 2025 Ridgway Popcorn Queen Jaleigh Sullivan.
The Red Kettle Campaign will be back for the 2026 holiday season, with hopes to spread cheer and kindness to those in need.
