24-year-old Katrina Weiland of Enfield is free following her arrest and subsequent court appearance. White County Sheriffs authorities arrested Weiland just after 9:30am Wednesday at her rural Enfield home on a charge of Domestic Battery. According to the report, Weiland threw a candle at her boyfriend, Robert Hutchcraft following an argument about fidelity. Weiland was in court via Zoom Thursday morning where the prosecution decided not to proceed with a petition to deny pre-trial release. A plea in the case has yet to be entered. Weiland was ordered released.
Just before 11pm Wednesday, a White County Sheriff’s Deputy says he observed a 2004 Honda CRV
traveling east on Main Street and didn’t see a visual rear registration plate prompting a stop. After pulling over, the officer says he saw an Indiana registration plate in the upper back window, which is clear and valid in the Hoosier state. After making contact with the driver, however, the officer found James Hardin of Indianapolis to be driving on a suspended license out of Indiana. The officer says he checked the passenger as well, Ebonie Tate and found her to be revoked in Illinois, but valid in Indiana. Hardin was arrested, booked on the driving while suspended charge, and subsequently released. Hardin will be due in White County court on February 10th at 9am.
