Nina Faye Taylor, 88, of Grayville, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Heart-to-Heart Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on Tuesday, May 25,1937, in Mill Shoals Township, Illinois, a daughter of Alfred and Alta (Files) Bassett. On February 14, 1987, Nina married Donald S. Taylor at Northside Missionary Baptist Church in Grayville, and together they shared over 37 years of marriage before his passing on February 2, 2025.

Nina was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed embroidery, cooking, tending her flower gardens and dancing with her husband Don. She was a woman of faith and a member of Antioch General Baptist Church in Mill Shoals and later attended Northside Missionary Baptist Church in Grayville. Nina was a member Albion-Browns American Legion Post # 590 Auxiliary.

Nina is survived by, her children, Rita Legg of Warsaw, MO, Kent (Rose) McTaggart of Mt. Carmel, Nina (Denny) Dunn of Fairfield and Sherrie (Daniel) Bowland of Grayville; grandchildren, Robert Bowland, Selena Bowland, Jason Winter, Ryan (Mandy) Pearce, Lauren (Lucas) Griswold, Jaclyn (Jake) Pearce, Mike (Rebecca) Seibert, Kenneth (Gwen) McTaggart, Christopher (Heather) Rogers, Robin Rogers, Sarah (Kenton) James, Cynthia Parsley and John Henry McTaggart; 24 great- grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, Lena McTaggart; sister-in-law, Alberta Andrews and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband Don Taylor and her parents Alfred Basset and Alta Bassett Cates, Nina was preceded in death by a son John McTaggart, a son-in-law, Perry Legg, and siblings, Eugene Bassett, Edith Eckleberry, Norman Bassett, Corene Cullison, Katie Fisher and Samuel Bassett.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, in the chapel at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service, 211 North First Street, Grayville, IL, with Pastor Bob Pollard Officiating. Interment will follow at West Antioch Cemetery in Mill Shoals. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 p.m. until the time of service. Roberts and Cook Funeral Service has been entrusted with the arrangements.
