The annual National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Festival of Trees and Craft Show is coming up this Saturday at a new location! For this Open Line, we’re joined by Barb Kearney and Allison Brooks to learn more about the history of the organization, what to expect at the event, and much more. Long time DAR member Barbara Karger says, “Like many DAR events, this fundraiser supports the three main areas of service: historic preservation, education, and patriotism,. The money raised helps maintain local historic sites, support scholarships and schools, assist veterans and fund community projects that honor our counties heritage. It links the courage and sacrifice of todays veterans to the patriots of the Amnerican Revolution. It’s our way of saying that from one generation to the next, their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.” Listen in for more!
