Crossville employees are getting bonuses and a Christmas party. It took leaders 34 minutes in executive session to decide who and how much, but when they emerged at 7:28pm, it was voted to give Christmas bonuses to employees with over 10 years of service $2,000; part time employees $500, the fire department chief and assistant $750; and the police chief $1,000. All voted yes save for Nikki Jacobs who said she appreciated all their efforts, but it was too much money in her estimation.
In regular session prior to the closed door meeting, leaders approved seeking sealed bids for 30 days on their old Hahn fire truck. Trustees also voted to purchase a new Panasonic TOUGHBOOK laptop for city employees. The current laptop is simply old and when meter readings are taken, they can’t be transferred to the billing software due to needed updates. The investment is $1,500 and will come from PC Doctors.
Also Tuesday night, Mayor Rick Kuykendall announced he would be providing animal control officer Amanda Mercer with a pre-paid phone to handle calls. A building permit was granted to Heather and Billy Guinn for a new yard building on their property.
Due to the next regularly scheduled meeting landing on Veterans Day, leaders opted to move the gathering to November 18th.
This Friday and Saturday, Halloween activities will take place in Crossville. Find the schedule of events below.
