An Oak Street woman is behind bars at the White County Jail following her arrest Tuesday morning. Carmi Police were called to 622 Oak Street just before 6am and ended up arresting 38-year-old MaryLee Dixie Schumate on a charge of Domestic Battery. Online court records don’t yet indicate when Schumate will be due in court. As of Tuesday afternoon, she remains jailed.
