There’s a new record this year and a new top vote getter for the 2026 Pets@Risk calendar contest. All told in year four, more than $4,317 was raised through checks, cash, coins, and Paypal donations by animal lovers. Since it’s inception, the annual contest has raised more than $16,000.
While last year’s top vote getter will return to the calendar (Honey has been in the calendar each year since the contest started), the contestant this year that brought the biggest haul was Daisy, owned by Ginger Mallette. The other top vote getters who will appear in the 2026 calendar include:

The remaining 38 pets will be featured on the calendar cover. Those calendars will be available for purchase at a cost of $10 each once they’re available later this year.
Pets@Risk is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to helping animals throughout White County. The organization helps find good homes for animals that are in the pound, assists those in need with spay/neuters, emergency vet services, pet food, and advocating in general for responsible pet ownership. The group meets on the first Monday of each month at 6pm at the downtown Carmi studios of WROY/WRUL. Anyone with a heart for pets is welcome to attend or join the group.
