Carmi Police arrested 35-year-old Kristin Ott Friday afternoon on a Jefferson County warrant. It was just after 5pm when officers were assisting with a trespassing complaint in the 700 block of Shipley when a Carmi officer observed Ott exiting a vehicle at an adjacent address according to reports. After the primary call was secure, Carmi Police made contact with Ott and confirmed the warrant through dispatch. Ott was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the White County Jail. Online court records only show a small claims court case against Ott in Jefferson County. A body attachment warrant was issued in May of this year.
Early Saturday morning, Carmi Police arrested 21-year-old Kayden McDowell of Eldorado following a traffic stop. It was just after midnight when police pulled McDowell over at Rock Bottom. He was charged with Driving under the Influence, and DUI with a Blood Alcohol Content over .08. Additionally, McDowell was cited for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. McDowell is due in White County court on August 26th.
Officers responded to the corner of Plum and Webb about a quarter after 7pm Saturday in response to a report of two males in the roadway. The caller stated the pair appeard to be under the influence of drugs. 40-year-old Matthew Lenon of Carmi was arrested and taken to Hamilton Memorial Hospital following a physical altercation with officers according to the report. Lenon has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer, Aggravated Battery to an EMS Worker, one count of Resisting a Peace Officer with injury, two counts of Resisting a Peace Officer, and a count of Reckless Conduct. A Carmi officer was injured in the head and one member of ambulance personnel sustained an injury to the wrist. Lenon had a first appearance Monday and is due back in White County court for a preliminary hearing on August 18th. The other white male in the report is listed as a 33-year-old and a victim. The fracas was witnessed by an 18-year-old male.
