John Neel SiegertEvansville, IN

John Neel Siegert passed away July 11, 2025, in Evansville, Indiana.  He was born on August 11, 1955, to Billy Neel and Laura Mae (Broster) Siegert in Princeton, Indiana.  John graduated from Grayville High School in 1973 and attended Eastern Illinois University.

Preceding John’s passing were his parents, Billy and Laura Mae Siegert.  John is survived by a brother, Joe (Toby) Siegert of Grayville, IL. and two sisters, Phyllis Wilks of Mt. Vernon, IL. and Jane (Gary) Iles of Mt. Vernon, IL.  He is also survived by two nieces, Lauren Siegert of Carbondale, IL. and Rachel Siegert of St. Louis, MO. and one nephew, Travis (Tracey) Iles of New Albany, OH.  John also leaves behind two great-nieces, Georgia Lee and Gentry Mae Iles of New Albany, OH.

John lived in Grayville, Illinois, Springfield, Illinois and Evansville, Indiana being his final home.  John loved to joke around, and was known for his quick wit.  He loved classic rock music, driving his family crazy when he was young, wiring their whole basement with speakers.  He was quite the daredevil on motorcycles, and about anything fast or rugged caught his interest.  Probably his biggest passion was waterskiing and boating.  When living in Grayville, he could be found most weekends boating and skiing on the Wabash River back when that was possible.

A visitation will be held at Roberts & Cook Funeral Service in Grayville on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials  may be made to the Grayville Scholarship Fund and will be accepted at Roberts & Cook Funeral Service who has been entrusted with the services or may be sent or given to any family member.
