CWC Baseball Gets Road Win at Eldorado

The Carmi-White County Baseball team defeated Eldorado on the road Tuesday afternoon by a final score of 10-2.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning on an RBI double by Merick Millhorn, and an RBI single by Mitchel Edwards. The Bulldogs added to that lead in the 3rd inning on another RBI single by Edwards.

The Eagles got on the board with a run in the 3rd, but Carmi answered with another in the 4th on an RBI groundout off the bat of Travor Mason, scoring Hayden Sauls.

In the top of the 5th, Mitchel Edwards hit his first career home run, a 2-run shot to extend the CWC lead to 6-1. The Bulldogs plated two more in the 5th on an RBI groundout by Ty Hollingsworth scoring Cade Allen, and an RBI single by Tyson Spicer scoring Hayden Sauls. The Bulldogs led 8-1 after 5.

Merick Millhorn drove in another in the top of the 6th inning, an RBI single that scored Gavin Holloman. CWC scored their 10th and final run in the top of the 7th on a bases loaded walk to Tyson Spicer, scoring Cade Allen.

Merick Millhorn picked up the win on the mound. He pitched all 7 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits with 6 strikeouts.

The Bulldogs improve to 6-8-1 on the season. They will finally be back at Eckerle Park on Wednesday as they host Harrisburg. It will be Carmi’s first home game since March 18th. The Bulldogs will also be at home Thursday as they host Eldorado.
