
Eleven Carmi residents found themselves in cuffs early Wednesday morning following a drug detail was conducted courtesy of the White County Sheriff’s, Carmi PD, and Southern Illinois Drug Task Force offices. Officials say the arrests are the result of a months long investigation with numerous drug related and non drug related charges filed. Additional arrests are expected as well.
Jailed Tuesday were Jack Weasel of 607 Fackney, 37 year old Kendra O’Brien and 52 year old Jeffery Newman of 219 Stevens Street, 58 year old Richard Travelstead of 905 9th, 65 year old Thomas McGuire of 806 6th Street, and 40 year old Jason Schneider of 103 Maple Street. They’re all charged with unlawful delivery of meth, some have additional charges. Also arrested were 44 year old Richard Powell of 910 Smith, 22 year old Tarynn Browning of 1021 Smith, 33 year old Jessica Smith of 1009 West Main in Crossville, 34 year old Richard Ott of 728 Shipley, and Miranda Travelstead of 905 9th Street.
Bond amounts range from $500 to $7,500. O’Brien, Newman, Miranda and Richard Travelstead are held without bond for their roles. Richard Travelstead was also charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Weasel was additionally charged for heroin possession.
