Evelyn Jean Savage, 94, of McLeansboro, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 at McLeansboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Evelyn was born June 5, 1926 in Belle Rive, IL, the daughter of Henry Oscar and Sada Catherine (Miller) Clark. She worked for many years at the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Mt. Vernon, IL and was also a devoted member of the Dahlgren Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Terry Dale Savage of McLeansboro, IL; daughter Connie Jo and husband John Allen of Lenoir City, TN; seven grandchildren: Joseph, James and John Wesley Allen, Ben and Tim Brake, Brandon and Brooke Savage; fourteen great grandchildren: Lauren, Andrew, Matthew, Justin, Dylan, Madison, Payton and Madelyn Allen, Kolby, Kaylie, Caleb and Sadie Brake, and Landon and Payton Savage; sister Katherine Marie Hastings of Dahlgren, IL; and sister-in-law Deloris Clark of Wayne City, IL.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale Savage; daughter Phyllis Brake; daughter-in-law Linda Savage; brother Raymond Oscar Clark; and great grandchild Jake Dale Allen.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the IOOF Cemetery in Dahlgren with Rev. John Ashby officiating. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren at 12:40 p.m. and will then proceed to the cemetery in together in a funeral procession. Due to current healthcare guidelines masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
