Carolyn J. Pearce
1941-2022

Carolyn J. Pearce passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2022.

Carol was born January 10, 1941, to George & Leona (Epperson) Hayden.  She attended Mater Dei High School.  She married Kenny Winchester, with whom they had 2 daughters, Shannon & Sherri.  Carol worked in dentistry as a receptionist.  The patients of the practices loved her.  Watching her daughters grow through various activities kept her rather busy, including being active with the Newburgh Swim team.  She led an active life of bowling, playing in Clabber leagues and Bunco Club for many years.  Her favorite past time was feeding her outdoor bird, rabbits & squirrels.  She volunteered her many gifts & time at the Little Sisters of the Poor.  Carol married Harry Phil Pearce, from Carmi, IL.  It was there she learned about crop farming, horse racing & breeding race horses.  Carol & Phil enjoyed traveling which included trips to Okinawa Japan, Alaska and Hawaii.  She was a member of the Owls & Elks Clubs in Evansville, IN.  As most know, Carol loved sports, especially IU basketball & the Kansas City Chiefs football team (Patrick Mahomes to be specific!).

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Phil Pearce; her parents; siblings, Patricia Erwin & Marilyn Hamman.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherri Winchester of Frederick, MD & Shannon Duncan (Ron) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Malynda (Moll) Howard, Alisha Duncan, Kyle Scales & Koltin Gibbons; great grandchildren, Danny Reilly, Paige & Aiden Howard, Cali & Alina Scales.
