April 28 – The SIC Student Portfolio Art Show will be held in the art gallery of the George T. Dennis Visual & Performing Arts Center April 28 through May 8. May 3 and 17 – Free online GED classes begin in cooperation with Rend Lake College. May 8, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. – SIC will host two commencement ceremonies for graduates only – no guests – in Deaton Gymnasium. The events will be livestreamed on SIC’s YouTube channel. 10 a.m. is for baccalaureate Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. 1 p.m. is for Nursing, Career & Technical Education, Associate of Applied Science degrees, and certificates. Keynote speaker is 2021 SIC Distinguished Alumnus Terry Severson, Forest Fire Management Officer for Hoosier National Forest. May 24 – SIC’s summer 4-day schedule begins and runs through the end of July: Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

A new summer mini-semester will run June 1 through July 1 and includes these online classes: HIST 241, MUS 121, THTR 121, PSYC 121, GOVT 121, SOC 121. Current students can register on MySIC.
