Storm Spotter Class

The National Weather Service, in cooperation with the Posey County Emergency Management Agency, will be holding a storm spotter class at the Posey County Hovey House, 330 Walnut St, Mt. Vernon, IN on Saturday, Feb. 11. The class will start at 9am and last approx. 2 hours. There is no fee for the class and it is open to the public. Fairfield Community High School presents "Red, White & Tuna"

The Fairfield Community High School is presenting a two act comedy, "Red, White, and Tuna" by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard. This play will be performed Friday, March 30 & Saturday, March 31 at 7pm in the FCHS gym. The play centers around the activities and lives of the residents of Texas' third smalles (fictional) town of Tuna, Texas.

Fairfield Coin Club Monthly Meeting

WCFB National Farm Machinery Show Trip

Pork Loin Fundraiser for Mac Yeida

A Pork Loin Fundraiser is being held with proceeds going to the Mac Yeida Kidney Benefit Fund. Pork Loins, provided by Jeff Schelhorn of Hawg 'n Sauce, and Danny Wilson & Friends, will be available for order at First Bank in Carmi & Mt. Vernon. 1/2 Smoked Pork Loin is $20 and Whole Smoked Loin is $40. Orders must be placed by Feb. 26. Loins may be picked up at Hawg 'n Sauce in Mt. Vernon, IN after 3pm or may be delivered upon request.

Spring Flea Market Vendors Needed

The Wayne County Fair Board will host a Spring Flea Market on Saturday, March 10 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds Floral Hall in Fairfield. GED Testing at SIC

Spring 2012 GED Testing will be held at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg. Testing will begin at 4:45 pm on February 28 & 29, April 3 & 4, and May 15 & 16. Testing will be held in Carmi at 9am, May 8. Call 618-252-5400, ext. 3213 for an appointment to register to take the test. To register for the test, you must bring $50 cash and a photo ID. Choose one of the test dates and register at least 1 week in advance.

Jefferson School Collecting Boxtops & Ink Cartridges

Jefferson School in Carmi is collecting General Mills Boxtops for Education. General Mills will pay 10 cents for each label that is on their products. The money goes into the PTO fund to help pay for field trips, classroom supplies, and items to enhance the children's learning. The school also collects used computer ink cartridges for recycling. The items may be dropped off at the school.
