Storm Spotter Class

The National Weather Service, in cooperation with the Posey County Emergency Management Agency, will be holding a storm spotter class at the Posey County Hovey House, 330 Walnut St, Mt. Vernon, IN on Saturday, Feb. 11. The class will start at 9am and last approx. 2 hours. There is no fee for the class and it is open to the public. The play centers around the activities and lives of the residents of Texas' third smalles (fictional) town of Tuna, Texas.

Spring 2012 GED Testing will be held at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg. Testing will begin at 4:45 pm on February 28 & 29, April 3 & 4, and May 15 & 16. Jefferson School in Carmi is collecting General Mills Boxtops for Education. General Mills will pay 10 cents for each label that is on their products. The money goes into the PTO fund to help pay for field trips, classroom supplies, and items to enhance the children's learning. The school also collects used computer ink cartridges for recycling. The items may be dropped off at the school.
