Summer Gardening Class
Do you have a child that continually plays in the dirt and can’t stop talking about growing vegetables and other plants?
Then, you might want to consider sending them to summer gardening classes.
Beginning May 29 and continuing through August 6, the White County 4-H GIFT garden on the east side of Carmi will be the host site for the gardening classes. The class will run from 9 until about 11 on Tuesday and is open to children five years and up, as of September 1st of last year.
Those attending the class will receive a hands-on education covering basic gardening concepts, growing techniques, insect identification and a number of other gardener related topics.
Students will also learn how salsa and pickles are made. Those attending the class will also pick and prepare produce for the Farmer’s Market and donation.
There is a $10 cost for the program. Additional information is available by calling 618-382-2662. One can also register for the class at that number; 382-2662.
