Two New Officers for Mt. Carmel Police

The Mt. Carmel Police welcomes two new officers to the department after they graduated from the Southwestern Illinois College Police Academy in Belleville, Illinois.  The officers’ completed the 14 week course on February 8 and will begin working with their field training officer (FTO) this coming week.

Marcus Dylan Root is a native of Albion. Dylan is currently a member of the Illinois Army National Guard and is completing his Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

Eric Emmons is a native of Lawrenceville.  Eric is a member of the Illinois Army National Guard and will be relocating to Mt. Carmel with his wife and three children.

The officers are currently filling vacancies within the department due to retirements and officer’s transferring to other agencies.
